AgriSafe was initially formed by rural nurses who believed that together they could improve the health and safety of farmers and ranchers. Today, AgriSafe builds the competency of health and safety professionals across the continuum to deliver exceptional occupational agricultural health care. We also provide resources and programs directed toward ag businesses, producers, and their families.
Access our web site and Learning Lab and you will find information on our online, on demand Nurse Scholar program developed for rural nurses and nursing educators. 2021 will see an expanded program with 20 hours of CNE credit! The Opioid Misuse trainings in conjunction with Mississippi State University provide CNE credit through four informative sessions.. A new 2020 initiative is the Total Farmer Health Nurse Coach program. Registered nurses who have completed the AgriSafe Nurse Scholar program use their knowledge and skills to address agricultural producers’ mental health needs and their families in their state. Come learn more about this exciting “boots on the ground” nurse coach model at the Friday poster session afternoon presented by two AgriSafe Total Farmer Health Nurse Coaches. In addition, AgriSafe is building a CNE mental health library for our on-demand mental health educational offerings. The CNEs will be free with our first three available this month and seven more coming in 2021.
Also expanding this year, is the updated Invest in Your Health project for schools with four ready- to- go programs for onsite or virtual classroom use.
