2025 MRASH Conference Venue Info

Conference And Overnight Accommodations:

The beautifully renovated Hotel Millwright is the location for our conference.  The facility still houses the Amana Woolen Mill.  The smaller footprint has enabled the conversion of the remainder of the facility into an industrial-themed yet cozy hotel, meeting areas, restaurant and bar with many conversation areas throughout.

Hotel Millwright

800 48th Ave, Amana, IA 52203

To make your reservations, click on the link above, select “Book Now” from the upper right corner and use code 2945 in the group code.

Or call 319-838-5015 and ask for the MRASH Conference rate.

The block will be released on October 12, so make your reservations prior to that for the negotiated rate of $119 per night.

Getting Here:

Amana is located just east of Highway 151, southwest of Cedar Rapids and north of Interstate 80.  If you plan to arrive by plane, the Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) is only about 16 miles away.  Hotel Millwright is also easily accessible by car.  Clicking on the map to the right, then choosing “Directions” will allow you to select your beginning location and get personalized driving instructions.  It is roughly 40 minutes from Iowa City or a little over 90 minutes from Des Moines.

Parking and Conference Activities:

Parking:  It is best to park in the larger lot adjacent to the weaving building.

Hotel Registration:  If you are staying overnight, you will want to go to the lobby to register.

Conference Activities:  Our conference activities will take place entirely in the Merino Loft on Thursday, November 13.  Please enter where “Merino Loft” is indicated on the diagram and take either the stairs or the elevator to the 2nd floor.

On Friday, November 14, we will also be utilizing the Carding Studio and the Electric Thread.   If you have already registered for the conference, on Friday, go directly to the Electric Thread, Merino Loft or Carding Studio, wherever your first breakout session is located.  Since November weather in Iowa can be unpredictable, we will have coat racks available in each location.

For your information, Warped and Woven is a lovely little shop that sells Amana Woolen goods, other Iowa made items and other fun and useful items.
