The fall 2022 campaign focused on equipment lighting and marking to reduce the risk of roadway crashes. Research from the UI College of Public Health has found that states with more stringent policies about lighting and marking on farm equipment have lower rates of roadway crashes involving motor vehicles and farm equipment. For our fall campaign, I-CASH distributed a resource from our partners at the Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health showing how to properly place lighting and reflective strips on farm equipment. In addition, we provided 9-inch strips of red, orange, and yellow reflective tape to apply as shown in the handout to make farm equipment more visible on public roadways.
