Summer 2015: Farmers CAN Prevent Skin Cancer and Heat Stress

Our inaugural campaign focused on skin cancer and heat stress awareness.  Twenty regional ISU Extension offices hung our poster about skin cancer and handed out packets of sunscreen.  Posters were also displayed across the state in Farm Service Agency offices. The PSAs were broadcast throughout the month of June 2015.  We hope to remind farmers that even though they can’t avoid working outside in the heat and sun, they CAN prevent heat stress and skin cancer!
