Call for Abstracts

Abstracts are being accepted for all rural and agricultural health and safety research, surveillance, education, outreach, and intervention posters.

Abstracts focusing on emerging issues and Research to Practice (r2p) activities are highly encouraged.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health defines Research to Practice as, “the transfer and translation of knowledge, interventions, and technologies into highly effective prevention practices and products which are adopted into the workplace.”

Abstracts should be submitted in English on the abstract form via the form below.  Preference will be given to abstracts that address one or more of the listed topics or a similar subject. The abstract should be a short summary of a research, surveillance, education, outreach or intervention project. Presenters of accepted abstracts must register for the conference.

Types of Presentations

  • Poster (to fit on a 36”x48” display board)

Preference to topics on

  • Emerging issues
  • Engaging Farmers, Researchers, Practitioners
  • Research to Practice (r2p) activities

Submission Guidelines

Note, you cannot save and return to the online form.  It is recommended that you develop the content in a word document and paste it into the form fields.

The abstract should not exceed 200 words

DO NOT CUT AND PASTE ABSTRACT TEXT FROM A PDF- plain text is preferable. If you have problems getting your abstract to submit, download and complete this Word doc version of the form, save it, and email the file to mrash-abstracts@uiowa.edu.

Notification of selection will be by October 1, 2015.

Conference registration materials will be available on the website in August or can be obtained by contacting Gayle Olson (gayle-olson@uiowa.edu) or calling (319) 931-1351.
